This is a reversed tie dye shirt. The blank tee was solid black when starting. The steps to produce this item are as follows:
- Scour the shirt in hot water - full hot cycle in washer with soap
- tie the shirt with a circle (to remain black) - a few hours work for a batch
- bleach select areas of the tied shirt - a few hours work for batch
- rinse out bleach - 30 minutes of rinsing in a spin cycle with a garden hose
- soak shirt in sodium bisulfite (bleach neutralizer) - 24 hour soak
- rinse out neutralizer - 30 minutes of rinsing in a spin cycle with garden hose
- dye shirt - a few hours work for batch
- Cure period - let sit on bakery racks for a minimum 12 hours
- Rinse unbonded dye - an hour for every 12 shirts, 3 cold baths, 1 full hot cycle, 2 more cold baths
- dryer - 1 hour for each load rinsed.
A very time consuming process, I know, but it is well worth the resulting tie dye.
Reminder: Tie dye is unique. Each and every shirt will vary in color, by the very nature of the process. The shirt you see in the image is not the same shirt you will receive. It will similar.

6.1 ounce. 100% cotton men's crew neck tee shirt. Seamless collar. Taped shoulder-to-shoulder. Double needle stitching. Quarter-turned.
Handmade tie dyed t-shirt. Adult sizes: small, medium, large, extra large, 2X, 3X and 4X. Fiber reactive permanent dye for a wonderfully vibrant colorfast tee shirt that will not fade away. Prewashed short sleeve shirt means you will buy it preshrunk.
